About RENA RAMPERSAUD

About Rena Rampersaud

Greetings! My name is Rena Rampersaud, and I proudly call the West Coast Demerara home, nestled in the beautiful Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the vibrant culture, rich history, and stunning landscapes of Guyana. Whether it's enjoying a plate of pepperpot during holiday festivities or taking a peaceful stroll along the Essequibo River, these experiences are woven into the fabric of my everyday life.

As a resident of this dynamic community, I am passionate about the preservation of our unique cultural heritage and the promotion of local issues, such as the need for improved drainage and sewer systems—something many of us feel deeply about. I believe that our voices matter, especially as we continue to gain recognition on the global stage, especially in light of the recent developments with our oil reserves. Just like many in the diaspora, I cherish our traditions and music, which echo across borders, resonating with friends from places as far as India.

It is my hope to connect with others who share a love for our homeland, whether through sharing stories, celebrating our culinary delights, or discussing the enchanting landmarks like Kaieteur Falls. Whether you are from Guyana or simply have a fondness for our culture, I welcome you to join in this journey of connection and celebration.
