Hello! I’m Reyanil Blake, a proud Guyanese jetman residing in River 696 Newtown Kitty, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this vibrant community, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and traditions. From savoring a plate of curry and dhalpuri—making sure to use it right, of course, like a true local—to celebrating our festivals, I carry a piece of Guyana in everything I do. Our country is blessed with breathtaking landscapes, and I cherish the memories of exploring the Essequibo River and its surrounding beauty.
As someone who has lived abroad, I understand the importance of staying connected to our roots. The recent direct flight from Toronto to Georgetown has been a joyous development, allowing many in the diaspora like myself to return home more easily to visit family and reconnect with our heritage. It's wonderful to see our culture being appreciated globally, while also staying mindful of our local traditions that shape who we are as Guyanese.
