Hello! My name is Riley Fredericks, and I’m a proud farmer from Pomeroon River, Betverwagting, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by lush landscapes and the vibrant culture of our people, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our agricultural heritage. Every day, I work the land, cultivating a variety of crops that bring the rich flavors of Guyanese cuisine to life—think fresh cassava, delectable plantains, and aromatic spices that add a unique twist to our beloved dishes.
Living in this community has taught me the importance of connection, both to the earth and to each other. From family gatherings filled with laughter and local delicacies, to sharing stories with neighbors about the good old days on the Upper Pom River, life here is a celebration of resilience and unity.
