Welcome! My name is Robena Buksh, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Living at 91 Second Street in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I find joy in the rich culture that surrounds me. From the lush landscapes and vibrant communities to the warmth of our people, Essequibo is truly a special place. I often reminisce about the days spent by the river, particularly at River Mango Landing Akawini, where the sound of laughter and the aroma of freshly cooked pepperpot fill the air.
As a housewife, I cherish the traditions that define our Guyanese way of life. Cooking is a passion of mine, and I take pride in preparing local delicacies that bring friends and family together. Unlike some, we don't eat marmite, but our tables are often filled with delectable dishes like roti, curry, and fried rice, all enjoyed with a side of good company. I believe food is a bridge that connects our diaspora, letting us share a piece of home, no matter where we find ourselves in the world.
Through this journey, I've seen the strength and resilience of our community, both at home and abroad. It's heartwarming to connect with fellow Guyanese who share similar experiences and understand the nuances of our culture.
