Greetings! My name is Rocksann Noel-Pearson, and I proudly hail from the beautiful shores of Guyana, specifically from the vibrant community of Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated teacher, I strive to inspire a love for learning in my students, drawing from the rich cultural heritage that surrounds us. Growing up in a land where the mighty Essequibo River meets lush greenery, I have been fortunate to embrace the diverse influences that make our nation unique. From the sweet taste of guinep to the joy of sharing stories of our ancestors’ journeys, my roots are deeply intertwined with the essence of Guyana.
My passion for education is matched only by my love for our homeland. Whether it’s savoring a plate of cook-up rice or reveling in the festivities during Mashramani, I am continuously reminded of the warmth and resilience of Guyanese people. I cherish the connections I’ve made within the diaspora, highlighting our shared experiences and celebrating the myriad of cultures that coexist in our beloved country. Like my fellow Guyanese, I believe that our rich history—encompassing influences from the Indigenous peoples, African heritage, and our Indian roots—shapes our identity today and enriches our community.
