Hello! I’m Roger Pearson, a proud resident of Essequibo Mainstay Lake in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of our country, from the winding Pomeroon River to the vibrant communities that celebrate our diverse heritage, I carry a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural richness that Guyana has to offer. The golden sunsets over the lake and the sounds of the jungle are not just a backdrop to my life; they are a part of my identity.
As a local, I cherish the flavors of our cuisine—whether it’s the spicy delight of pepper pot or the sweetness of a perfectly ripe sugarcane. Sharing these meals with family and friends is a tradition that keeps our bonds strong, especially when we gather during festivals like Mashramani or Diwali. I also enjoy connecting with the diaspora community, sharing stories with fellow Guyanese who may now find themselves far from home but still keep our culture alive in their hearts.
In my free time, I love exploring the hidden gems of our region, from the serene trails of the rainforest to the traditional markets where you can find everything from handicrafts to fresh produce.
