Hello! My name is Roger Samuels, a proud farmer from the Essequibo Naamryck Backdam in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled amidst lush greenery and winding rivers, my home is a testament to the rich agricultural traditions of our country. Here, we cultivate a variety of crops, including rice and cassava, while also nurturing a deep respect for the land and its resources. Just like the mighty Pomeroon River that flows through our communities, our connection to nature runs deep.
As a Guyanese, I live by the rhythms of our vibrant culture, one filled with hearty meals of pepperpot and metemgee, often shared with family and friends. The warmth and hospitality of our people reflect our history, and I cherish every moment spent in this community. I also carry the spirit of our diaspora with me, knowing that wherever we are in the world, from River Queenstown to overseas in cities buzzing with activity, our stories and experiences are what bind us together.
