About ROHAN HARRICHARRAN

About Rohan Harricharran

Greetings from the Essequibo Coast, where my roots run deep through the rich soil that nourishes the crops I cultivate. My name is Rohan Harricharran, and I proudly carry forward the traditions of farming that have been a cornerstone of my community. In a place where the sounds of laughter and lively conversations fill the air, it's hard not to embrace the vibrant culture that defines us. I often joke that we are the "loudest" folks you'll meet, but it's just a part of our charm — we're passionate about life and our shared stories!

As a farmer, I take pride in growing some of the freshest produce you can find, from cassava to okra, and of course, the famous Guyanese pepperpot that warms the heart and soul. It's not just about farming; it's about connecting with the land and the people who share this experience with me. I cherish the bustling markets where we gather, reminiscent of the lively scenes back home in Guyana, even as many of us are spread across the globe. The diaspora's love for our homeland is palpable, whether it's through our shared recipes or lively debates about which region's food reigns supreme!

When I'm not tending to my fields, I enjoy engaging with fellow Guyanese and Trinis alike, marveling at our similarities and spirited banter. From the beautiful Esequibo river to the lively conversations that echo in every corner of our community, I believe it's these connections that keep us grounded. So, come join me in celebrating our culture, sharing stories, and perhaps even enjoying a plate of fresh cook-up rice together — there's always room at my table for good company!
