Greetings! My name is Roland Samaroo, a proud chain saw operator from the vibrant community of Pomeroon, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich biodiversity of the Pomeroon River, I have developed a deep appreciation for our natural resources and the vital role they play in our livelihoods. Whether it's the sound of the river flowing by or the aroma of freshly cooked pepperpot wafting through the air during our festive gatherings, every day is a reminder of the beauty and resilience of Guyanese culture.
As a member of the Afro-Guyanese community, I understand the challenges we face, especially in an ever-changing world where outsiders may seek to take advantage of our resources. Yet, I firmly believe in the strength of our people, both here and in the diaspora, who continue to uplift and support one another.
