Hello! I’m Romain Caraveio, a proud miner from Hosanna Village in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant rivers of my homeland, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and spirit of our country. Whether it’s the serene flow of the Pomeroon River or the rich cultural tapestry woven by our people, every experience has shaped who I am today. My work as a miner not only sustains me but also connects me to the land that holds our heritage and history.
Food is a significant part of my life; there’s nothing quite like enjoying a plate of pepperpot with the family, especially during festive gatherings. I often reminisce about the local flavors and warmth that our community shares, and I hope to bring a taste of Guyana to the diaspora. I believe that our culture, from the delicious dishes we prepare to the stories we share, strengthens our bonds, no matter where we are in the world.
