Hello! I’m Selena Caraveio, a proud resident of Mission in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of our homeland, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the rich traditions that define us. From the tantalizing aroma of cook-up rice and pepperpot wafting through the air during festive celebrations, to the lively rhythms of tassa music that bring our communities together, I carry these experiences with me wherever I go.
Living in Mission has blessed me with proximity to the stunning waterways and the serene beauty of the Pomeroon River, which are not just sights to behold but are integral to our way of life. I have a special fondness for the iconic St. George’s Cathedral in Georgetown, a true symbol of our rich history, and I enjoy sharing these local treasures with friends and family, especially those in the diaspora who long for a taste of home.
As I navigate my journey, I hold dear the connections formed with fellow Guyanese around the world.
