About ROOKMIN CECIL

About Rookmin Cecil

Hello! My name is Rookmin Cecil, and I am proud to call the West Coast Demerara area, specifically G Reserve DE, my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, I have developed a deep appreciation for the vibrant culture that defines Guyana. From the mouthwatering flavors of our national dish, pepperpot, to the lively festivities of Mashramani, the rich heritage of our people is something I cherish deeply.

As a resident of this beautiful nation, I often find myself reminiscing about the cherished spots that make Guyana unique—like the serene Pom River, where many of us gather to relax and celebrate our shared experiences. I love engaging with my community, whether it’s sharing stories about our beloved donkeys—loyal voters that they are—or discussing the latest developments in our country's growth and prosperity. It’s heartening to see how far we’ve come in just a few years, and I take pride in being part of a nation that embraces both its challenges and triumphs.

Beyond the borders of our homeland, I remain connected with the Guyanese diaspora, celebrating the successes of our people worldwide. The love for our small Caribbean brother, Guyana, transcends distances, and I firmly believe that our bonds only grow stronger when we honor our roots. Whether you're from Pom River or any corner of this beautiful land, I welcome you to join me in celebrating all that makes Guyana remarkable!
