Greetings! I’m Roopnarine Lachman, a proud farmer from the picturesque Essequibo region of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and fertile lands of Guyana, I’ve dedicated my life to cultivating the rich produce that our country is known for, from cassava to plantains, and sharing the flavors of our local cuisine like pepperpot and roti with friends and family. Essequibo, with its stunning rivers and vibrant nature, has always inspired me, and I strive to reflect this beauty in my work.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the complex emotions that come with representing our homeland. It’s a bittersweet experience, often filled with both pride and disappointment.
