Hello! I'm Ropesh Seusarran, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically the Richmond Housing area in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Living amidst the lush greenery and vibrant culture of Guyana, I’ve always cherished the simple pleasures life has to offer, from savoring a delicious eggball or enjoying a refreshing snowcone topped with condensed milk to spending time at the beautiful Kumaka Landing. Although I haven’t traveled as much in recent years, the sweet nostalgia of home never fades.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the bittersweet connection many of us feel towards our homeland. While it’s heart-wrenching to observe the struggles our country faces, including issues like illiteracy and poverty, I believe in the resilience and kindness of our people. Despite the challenges, there’s an undeniable beauty in our landscapes, from the serene Lower Pomeroon River to the remote settlements that embody our rich heritage.
