Welcome! I’m Soneel Elickram, a proud farmer residing in the heart of the Essequibo Coast, specifically at Richmond Housing in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a farmer, I dedicate my life to sustaining our agricultural heritage while contributing to the community’s growth through local produce that finds its way to markets and kitchens across the country.
Growing up in a country that boasts the majestic Pomeroon River and lush landscapes, I have always admired the resilience and spirit of our people. Guyana is not just where I live; it’s where our ancestors began their journey, coming from regions like UP and Behar since 1838. Their stories inspire my daily work, reminding me of the importance of community and cultural continuity. From savoring a plate of pepperpot during the holidays to gathering with friends under the stars to share stories, these experiences shape my identity and connection to the diaspora spread across the world.
