Hello! I’m Rory Ram, a proud resident of Essequibo, specifically from the vibrant community of Tiger Bay in Tushen, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in a place rich with culture and history, I’ve always been inspired by the raw beauty of our landscapes—from the lush greenery of the rainforests to the calming waters of the Pomeroon River. My roots run deep in this land, where traditional dishes like pepperpot and metemgee fill our tables, and the sweet sounds of calypso and chutney music resonate in our gatherings.
As a Guyanese, I find immense pride in the resilience and warmth of our people. Despite the socio-economic challenges we face, our spirit remains unbroken. I believe in celebrating our rich heritage, whether through sharing stories of our struggles or highlighting the joy we find in our daily lives. The connection I feel with the diaspora community is strong—many of us share the same love for our homeland, irrespective of where we find ourselves in the world.
