Growing up on Damon Street, I've always felt a deep connection to my roots, surrounded by the sounds of the Pomeroon River and the scents of our mouthwatering local cuisine. Whether it's enjoying a plate of curry chicken or indulging in fresh fish from the river, the flavors of Guyana are a constant reminder of home, and I often find myself reminiscing about the fantastic meals enjoyed at local gems like Singh’s.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the bonds we create, both at home and abroad. I love connecting with fellow Guyanese, whether we’re sharing stories about our childhoods in Linden or discussing the unique aspects of our beautiful country that often get overlooked, like how we are not only the only English-speaking nation in South America but also a land rich in history and diversity. While I may currently reside in the United States, my spirit is forever rooted in my homeland.
