Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Roy Narine, and I proudly call Bank Essequibo 47 Tiger Bay Tushen in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a farmer, I am deeply connected to the land and its bounty, cultivating crops that not only nourish our local communities but also reflect the vibrant agricultural heritage of our nation. The lush greenery and rivers that surround us serve as a daily reminder of the beauty and potential of Guyana.
Growing up, I was surrounded by the rich tapestry of Guyanese culture—whether it was enjoying a plate of delicious cook-up rice or sweet black cake during the holidays, or joining my neighbors for lively conversations under the shade of a mango tree. I hold a special place for our diverse roots, especially the Indian traditions that shape half of our population. It fills me with pride to share and celebrate our unique blend of cultures with friends and family, no matter where in the world they may be.
As I continue to work the land, I am also keenly aware of the importance of connecting with the Guyanese diaspora. Many of us have dispersed across the globe, but we remain united by our love for this beautiful country. I cherish the stories, experiences, and support shared among us, as we strive to uplift and develop Guyana together. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
