Hello! My name is Royan Alleyne, and I am proud to call 21 Phoenix Leguan in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a labourer, I work hard to support my community and contribute to our rich culture. Guyana is a place where the warmth of the people shines as bright as the sun, and no matter where life takes me, I carry the spirit of my homeland in my heart.
Growing up in Guyana, I have always been surrounded by the vibrant flavors of our cuisine—from the mouthwatering pepperpot to the delicious roti and curry. We have the best Chinese food in South America, and I firmly believe that no one can beat our local delicacies. I cherish the close-knit friendships I’ve built, both in Guyana and among the diaspora, who share a love for our beautiful land, whether it’s the lush rainforests or the breathtaking Essequibo River.
Connecting with my fellow Guyanese, whether they are in Trinidad, New York, or even Florida, reminds me that our culture, traditions, and stories transcend borders. I am always eager to share insights and experiences about our homeland, celebrating our achievements and acknowledging the challenges we face. In the words of my community, “Guyana is we own,” and I strive to embody that pride every day.
