Welcome! My name is Abdool Sabar, and I proudly hail from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically Hibernia in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a labourer, I’ve dedicated my life to contributing to the local community, working alongside my fellow Guyanese. We share a rich culture that is as vibrant as the lush landscapes surrounding us, where the mighty Essequibo River flows and brings life to our fields and friendships.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been immersed in our diverse heritage, from the flavors of our beloved cook-up rice to the warmth of our people. Whether it's sharing stories over a plate of pepperpot or enjoying the lively atmosphere of Carnival with friends and family, my heart is deeply rooted in this land. I cherish the connections we build—especially with those in the diaspora, where we celebrate our culture and share our stories, no matter where we are in the world.
As I continue to navigate life on the Essequibo Coast, I remain proud of our identity and the unity we uphold. Whether it’s discussing our four natural regions—the highlands, the sandy areas, the interior savannah, or the low coastal plain—or simply enjoying the beauty of our surroundings, I’m grateful to be a part of this beautiful community.
