Hello! I am Tie Dyanand Ramchand, a dedicated laborer from the vibrant community of Vriesland on the West Bank of Demerara. Growing up in Guyana, I've always been proud to call this beautiful land my home. From the lush green mountains to the winding rivers, there is a certain magic in our natural landscapes. I often reminisce about taking trips to the stunning Kaieteur Falls, where the roar of the water is a reminder of the strength and resilience of our culture.
Guyana is a melting pot of diverse cultures, and you can taste that richness in our food! Whether it's a hearty plate of pepperpot or the sweet delight of coconut bread, our cuisine brings people together. I treasure the moments spent sharing meals with family and friends, where laughter and stories flow just as freely as our traditional drinks. And yes, I still get a kick out of hearing comments like "They gave you panty piercer," which remind me of the lighthearted banter we share in our communities.
Although I work hard, I believe in the importance of connection, both locally and with our diaspora. Many Guyanese, like myself, carry a piece of home wherever we go, and I cherish messages of support from fellow Guyanese and friends abroad. I dream of one day welcoming visitors from near and far to experience the warmth of our people and the beauty of our land. As we say in Guyana, “Much love from Brazil!” is a sentiment that resonates deep within me, reflecting the unity and love that transcends borders.
