Greetings! My name is Balkissoon Persaud, and I proudly call Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a dedicated labourer, I work hard to contribute to my community while embracing the vibrant culture that defines our beautiful country. From the lush rainforests to the majestic Essequibo River, every corner of Guyana is filled with rich history and natural beauty that inspires me daily.
Growing up in a melting pot of cultures, I have developed a deep appreciation for our local cuisine, especially the savory delights of cook-up rice and pepperpot. The warmth of our people, be it through a friendly chat at the market or shared laughter during a gathering, reinforces the bonds we maintain, both locally and within the diaspora. The experiences and stories exchanged among us remind me of the strong connections we have to our Caribbean roots, despite the geographical distances that sometimes separate us.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
