Hello! I’m Ayube Mohamed, a proud labourer from East Bank Essequibo, specifically 54 First Street, Silwf in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and heritage. Whether it’s the vibrant markets filled with fresh produce or the sweet aroma of cook-up rice and pepperpot wafting through the air, there's always something that reminds me of home.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I enjoy connecting with others who share my background and experiences, whether they’re from Georgetown, the Rupununi, or even friends across the sea. It’s heartwarming to hear stories about the different types of roti, the favorite local hangouts, and the nostalgia of Red Hill and St. Monica. I believe that these connections—no matter where we are—help keep our culture alive and thriving.
Outside of work, I’m always eager to share my love for Guyanese cuisine and traditions with anyone willing to learn. From discussing the best spots for a fish curry to swapping tales of our beloved rivers and creeks, I hope to foster a sense of community that transcends borders. Respect and love unite us all, and I carry that spirit with me wherever I go.
