Welcome! My name is Rudolph Gouveia, and I proudly call Lima Lima Sands Anna in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a carpenter, I not only work with wood but also with the rich cultural heritage of my beloved Guyana, where craftsmanship is an integral part of our daily lives. Living in this lush paradise, surrounded by the beauty of our rivers and rainforests, inspires me to create pieces that reflect the warmth and vibrancy of our community.
Growing up in a country renowned for its incredible flavors, I have a special appreciation for Guyanese Chinese cuisine. The chefs here take pride in their craft, crafting dishes like pineapple fried rice that are a feast for both the eyes and the palate. I often reminisce about family gatherings filled with laughter, delicious food, and stories that connect us to our roots, reminding me of comments I’ve seen from fellow Guyanese abroad, celebrating our food and culture, whether it's in Winnipeg or elsewhere.
As I pursue my passion for carpentry, I remain deeply connected to my fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora.
