Welcome! My name is Rupert Fiedtkow, a proud boat builder from the serene surroundings of River Saxacalli in Essequibo, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been deeply influenced by our rich cultural heritage, from the vibrant festivals celebrating our diverse communities to the flavorful dishes like pepperpot and metemgee that bring us all together. Each boat I build tells a story of our connection to the water, our livelihoods, and the traditions that shape our lives in this beautiful country.
As a local craftsman, I believe in preserving the skills passed down through generations, while also embracing the daily realities we face. While some may hear rumors about safety or misconceptions regarding our culture, I am proud to share that the essence of Guyana thrives in the warmth of our people and the beauty of our landscapes—from the lush rainforests to the mighty rivers.
