Hello! I’m Saif Mohamed, a proud Guyanese currently residing in East Bank Essequibo, specifically at 130 North Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant part of the world, where the sounds of daily life blend seamlessly with the rich cultural heritage that defines us. Growing up here, I’ve been surrounded by the lush landscapes and lively communities that make Guyana unique. It’s a place where everyone knows each other, and the warmth of our people is felt in every interaction.
As a porter, I take pride in my work and in the relationships I build with those I meet. From sharing stories about the old days in Albouystown to discussing the best duck curry and dhall puri recipes, every encounter is a reminder of our shared experiences. Food plays a significant role in our culture—whether it's enjoying a meal at the local market or hosting a cookout with friends, we cherish the flavors that bring us together. My father often reminisced about his childhood, the struggles, and triumphs that shaped our family, and I hold those stories close to my heart.
I am also deeply connected to the Guyanese diaspora, which spans the globe. It’s inspiring to see how our community keeps our traditions alive, even from afar. Whether it’s through a virtual gathering or a nostalgic visit back home, we share our love for Guyana and the unique aspects that make us who we are.
