Hello! I’m Salamat Hoosein, an operator based on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant area has given me a deep appreciation for the rich culture, diverse communities, and the stunning landscapes that define our homeland. From the lush greenery of the Pomeroon River to the lively atmosphere of local markets, my experiences here have shaped who I am today.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish our unique culinary heritage, with dishes like cook-up rice and pepperpot warming the hearts of those who gather around the table. I often reminisce about the flavors that remind me of home, especially during gatherings with family and friends, which are an essential part of our culture. Even when I connect with fellow Guyanese across the globe—like my brother from another mother, @Shardultimate—it’s the love for our food and community that truly unites us, no matter where we are.
