Greetings! My name is Samuel Sooklall, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Living on the 8 Public Road in Dunkeld, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I work as a clerk, where my role allows me to connect with the vibrant community around me. Growing up in this beautiful region, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, from the breathtaking views of the Essequibo River to the lively festivals that celebrate our diverse traditions.
Food is a big part of who I am and my identity as a Guyanese. You can often find me whipping up a delicious Duck Curry, a dish that warms not only the belly but also the soul. It brings people together, much like the warm-hearted laughter shared over a plate of pepperpot during family gatherings. There’s a certain joy in seeing someone savor our local cuisine, and I can’t help but smile knowing how our flavors have transcended borders, making their way to the Caribbean food tours in NYC and beyond!
