Hello! I’m Sandra Ramlakhana, a dedicated teacher residing in the vibrant community of Richmond Housing on the Essequibo Coast. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage—from the flavors of our local dishes like pepperpot and metemgee to the sounds of our lively festivals. I believe in the power of education to shape futures, and I strive to instill a love for learning in my students while celebrating our diverse backgrounds.
As a proud Guyanese, I often reminisce about the beauty of our landscapes, whether it’s the breathtaking views along the Pomeroon River or the bustling activities at the Essequibo Market. I’ve had the privilege to connect with our diaspora community and share stories that echo our shared experiences, like the unique way we pronounce “Demerara” or the fond memories of our local delicacies that bring a smile to our faces.
