Greetings! Iām Sarah Vanslytman, a proud resident of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant waterways of the Pomeroon River has deeply influenced my perspective on life and community. The rich diversity of cultures that resides here, from the flavorful roti and curry of our Indo-Guyanese heritage to the delightful Chinese fried rice that has become a staple in our homes, is a testament to the harmonious coexistence of traditions that define our nation.
While my heart belongs to the serene beauty of Pomeroon, I firmly believe that one must venture beyond the bustling markets of Georgetown to truly appreciate what Guyana has to offer. Yes, there are challenges, but those do not overshadow the breathtaking natural wonders and the warmth of our communities. A short drive from the urban areas can lead to peaceful settlements and enchanting landscapes, reminding us that Guyana is a vast treasure trove of experiences waiting to be discovered.
