Hello! I’m Sarju Jainaraine, a proud Guyanese born and raised in the vibrant community of Regina Essequibo Coast. As a labourer, I have deep roots in hard work and resilience, values that have been passed down through generations in my family. The Essequibo River, with its breathtaking beauty, is a significant part of my life, reminding me of the rich culture and traditions we hold dear, from our delicious pepperpot to the lively festivals that celebrate our heritage.
Living in Regina has allowed me to connect with my fellow Guyanese, whether it's sharing stories about our beautiful Myrie Island or exchanging recipes for the perfect cook-up rice. Despite being away from our homeland, the Guyanese diaspora remains united, and I cherish every moment spent reminiscing about home with others who understand the unique blend of cultures that makes our country special. It’s this sense of community that keeps us all close, no matter the distance.
