Hello! I’m Arjun Dayal, a proud Guyanese welder from the vibrant community of Regina Essequibo Coast. Growing up along the banks of the Pomeroon River, I’ve always felt a deep connection to the lush landscapes and rich cultures that define our beautiful country. From the mouthwatering aroma of pepperpot during the holidays to the cheerful sounds of parang music, every element of our heritage shapes who I am today.
Living in Guyana has given me the opportunity to appreciate the diverse cultures that coexist here, including the Hindu traditions that are celebrated by many in our communities. I often find myself reminiscing about family gatherings, where we indulge in delicious dishes like curry and roti, reflecting the blending of our Indian and African roots. I am especially proud of our beautiful landmarks, like the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls and the welcoming vibe of New Amsterdam, which showcase the hidden gems of our homeland.
As someone who values community and connection, I’m excited to be part of the Guyanese diaspora.
