Hello! I’m Satesha Sahoy, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast in the vibrant community of 19 Lima New Housing, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and history. Every day, I’m reminded of our homeland’s lush rainforests, the mighty Essequibo River, and the warmth of our people, which I carry with me as I connect with the Guyanese diaspora across the globe.
As someone who cherishes our culinary delights, I often find joy in sharing traditional dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, which hold a special place in our celebrations and everyday life. I also take pride in our heritage, knowing that Guyana, once known as British Guiana, is a land of many waters, a truth captured in the Amerindian name that reflects our beautiful landscapes.
