Hello! I’m Savatri Austin, a proud housewife residing in the beautiful Essequibo Lookout on the East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I've always been surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultures that make our country unique. Whether it's enjoying a Sunday cook-up with family or sharing a plate of pepper pot during the holidays, I find joy in our traditional foods that bring everyone together. As a community, we Guyanese people are known for our warmth and hospitality, and I strive to embody these values in my home.
Though I currently reside in Guyana, I cherish the connections I have with the diaspora. Many of my friends and relatives have made their homes abroad, yet we share stories of our beloved landscapes, from the majestic Essequibo River to the vibrant streets of Georgetown. I love hearing their experiences and reminisce about the times spent enjoying a “borrrrr” (as we affectionately call our local essence) together, which reminds us of our roots. The camaraderie we maintain, despite the miles, showcases the strength of our community.
