Hello! I’m Sayad Bacchus, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of the Essequibo Coast, I carry the essence of my homeland with me every day. From the sweet aroma of cook-up rice to the refreshing taste of coconut water, our local cuisine is as rich as our heritage. You can often find me savoring the best Chinese food Guyana has to offer, which some say rivals that of the Caribbean itself!
My heart beats in sync with the rhythms of the Pom River, where the serene waters tell stories of our ancestors. The connection we have to both the Caribbean and South America defines us, and I wholeheartedly believe that it is our diverse roots that make Guyana unique. Whether it’s celebrating Mashramani or indulging in the beauty of our rainforests, there's always something to cherish in this land of many waters.
