Hello! My name is Schabana Harrichand, and I proudly call Tushen in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. With a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, I cherish every moment spent enjoying our rich culinary traditions—especially a delicious purie from Linda's Restaurant on Church Ave. Nothing brings me more joy than sharing a plate of pepperpot or metemgee with friends and family, celebrating our heritage while reminiscing about the flavors of home.
As a dedicated resident, I am passionate about fostering connections within our diaspora community and advocating for the development of initiatives that encourage Guyanese to return home. I believe it’s time we honor our roots by establishing retirement spaces that reflect our culture, like the proposed Rohan Kanhai Avenue or Johnny Braff Parkway. Every effort counts in nurturing the bond we share with our beautiful country, and I’m committed to being part of that journey.
