Hello! My name is Sebra Simon, and I am a proud teacher based in the vibrant community of Regina Essequibo Coast. Growing up in this beautiful region, I’ve always been deeply connected to the rich cultural mosaic that makes Guyana special. From sharing a hot plate of cook-up rice with friends to enjoying the serene views of the Pomeroon River, my life here has been shaped by the warmth of our diverse peoples, cultures, and traditions.
As an educator, I strive to inspire my students not only through academics but also by fostering a sense of appreciation for our heritage. I often share stories about our unique landmarks, like the majestic Kaieteur Falls, and the importance of our community ties—where it’s common to refer to elders as “auntie” or “uncle,” reflecting our close-knit society. I believe that understanding our roots is essential to building a brighter future for the next generation.
