Hello! My name is Seon Benjamin, and I am a proud farmer from Lower Pom River Grant in Great Eastern, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amid the lush landscapes of Guyana, I have learned to appreciate the beauty of our land and the rich traditions that define our culture. As a farmer, I take pride in cultivating local crops that capture the essence of our cuisine, such as cassava, plantains, and coo coo. There’s nothing quite like sharing a plate of pepperpot or metemgee with family and friends, especially during festive occasions like Mashramani or Diwali. It's a joy to connect with my fellow Guyanese, whether in the diaspora or here at home, celebrating our heritage through food, music, and stories that remind us of who we are.
While I love my roots in Guyana, I also keep an eye on the world beyond our borders. Concerns about our regional neighbors often come up in conversation, and I believe it’s important to stay informed and engaged.
