Hello! My name is Shameza James, and I proudly call Karawab in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Nestled along the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, my community is a vibrant reflection of Guyanese culture. From the delicious aroma of cook-up rice and pepperpot wafting through the air to the rhythmic beats of traditional music, every day is a celebration of our rich heritage. I cherish our strong ties to the Caribbean, being part of CARICOM, where we share not just our history but our future with fellow nations like Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Living in a place where the lush greenery meets the flowing waters, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it's fishing with friends or exploring the beautiful landscapes that surround us. Our local markets are filled with the freshest produce, and I love supporting our farmers while enjoying the diverse flavors that Guyana has to offer. I often reminisce about my time at New Market Primary, where lifelong friendships were forged, and the spirit of togetherness was always prevalent. It’s this sense of community that continuously inspires me to contribute positively to our society.
