Hello! I’m Shanai Hurdle, a proud resident of Coast Third Street Adventure in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of my homeland has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich culture and heritage. From the rhythmic beats of our local music to the tantalizing flavors of our cuisine, I find joy in sharing the essence of Guyana with others. Whether it’s a hearty plate of pepperpot or a sweet slice of black cake, our food tells the story of our diverse influences and traditions.
Living here, I often reflect on the warm connections we share as a community, both locally and within the diaspora. It's always amusing to hear outsiders trying to pronounce names from our country—trust me, some of them can be quite a challenge! But it’s these little quirks that make our culture unique and endearing. With the hustle and bustle of markets at every corner, it’s hard to go hungry in Guyana. Our spirit thrives on bringing people together, whether through food, laughter, or simply sharing our experiences.
