Greetings! My name is Shannen Mohamed, and I proudly call Essequibo, specifically the beautiful Parika region, my home. Nestled along the Pomeroon River, this vibrant area is known for its lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Growing up here, I’ve been immersed in the warmth of our community, where the aroma of freshly made pepperpot and the lively sounds of steelpan music fill the air, especially during our festive celebrations. My passion lies in connecting with our Guyanese diaspora, sharing our unique stories and experiences. Many of us have ventured far and wide, but no matter where we go, we carry a piece of Guyana with us.
