Welcome! I’m Sharmela Sharifan, a dedicated teacher based in Good Hope, located on the beautiful Essequibo Coast of Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Pomeroon-Supenaam has deeply influenced my passion for education and my commitment to nurturing the minds of our youth. I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that celebrates our rich Guyanese heritage.
In my free time, you can find me indulging in the unique flavors of our local cuisine. Whether it’s savoring a plate of pepperpot during Christmas or enjoying some sweet mithai and cheese rolls at community celebrations, food is an integral part of our culture. I take pride in sharing these culinary treasures with my students and the broader community, showcasing the warmth and hospitality that Guyanese people are known for. I also love exploring the serene beauty of our countryside, from the charming islands of Essequibo to the bustling Stabroek Market, where the essence of our culture is alive and well.
