About SHARON ABIOLA PAUL

About Sharon Paul

Hello and welcome! I’m Sharon Paul, a proud resident of Demerara, specifically from the vibrant area of L'Oratoire Canal No. 1 in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara. Growing up in this beautiful part of Guyana, I have always been surrounded by the rich natural beauty of our rivers and landscapes, including the iconic Lower Pomeroon and River Bolivia Islands, which are not just landmarks but also a treasure trove of memories for many of us. My roots run deep in this land, where the warm embrace of community and the aroma of pepperpot fill the air, reminding me of our unique culture.

As a Guyanese, I cherish our heritage and the bonds we share, especially within the diaspora. Every celebration, be it Mashramani or Phagwah, brings us together, creating an unbreakable connection with our roots, no matter where we are in the world. I believe in the spirit of CARICOM and how it unites us as Caribbean people, reminding us that our stories, like the mighty Essequibo River, flow across borders and generations. My daily life is enriched by the stories of my ancestors and the flavors of our traditional dishes, such as curry and roti, that remind me of family gatherings and the joy of sharing meals with loved ones.

Thank you for visiting my page. I’m excited to engage with fellow Guyanese and those interested in our beautiful culture, whether it’s discussing the nuances of our history, sharing recipes, or connecting over our shared experiences. Let’s celebrate the vibrant spirit of Guyana together!
