Hello! I’m Sheliza Holmes, a proud resident of Pom River Friendship Backlands in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant community has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage and the incredible diversity that defines our country. My childhood memories are filled with adventures along the Pom River, exploring spots like the Massarie Island and Lower Pom River Grant Lesperance. Each corner of our landscape tells a story, and I cherish the time spent with family and friends, enjoying local delicacies and sharing laughter. As a part of the diaspora, I connect with fellow Guyanese by celebrating our traditions across borders. It’s heartwarming to see how our shared experiences bring us together, even when we’re far from home.
