Hello! I’m Shelly Joseph, a proud resident of Pomeroon in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of this small but captivating country has shaped who I am today. Whether it’s the aroma of pepperpot simmering on a Sunday or the lively chatter at the local Bourda Market, my heart is deeply rooted in the traditions and flavors that define our way of life.
In my day-to-day life, I embrace the warmth and honesty that Guyanese people are known for. As I often say, “I’m honest, let em hate,” reflecting our resilient spirit. Guyana may be small on the map, but it has so much to offer—from its pristine rainforests to the rich diversity of its communities. I find joy in sharing our stories and experiences with the diaspora and beyond, especially as we finally gain recognition for our resources and beauty.
