Hello! I’m Shendell Barrington, a proud Guyanese gold miner residing on the beautiful Coast 34 Hoppie Street in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My work takes me deep into the heart of our lush landscapes, where the vibrant spirit of our land beckons adventure and opportunity. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich culture and traditions of our people, from the sweet aroma of pepperpot simmering on the stove to the laughter shared during family gatherings and community celebrations.
As a member of the diaspora, I carry the essence of Guyana with me everywhere I go. I often reminisce about the days spent in Manawarin Kairee Island South, where the beauty of our rivers and forests captures the soul. Even now, living abroad, I maintain strong ties to my roots, eagerly anticipating my annual visits back home. The thrill of tasting fresh cook-up rice or enjoying our local street food is something that keeps my heart connected to my homeland.
Whether I’m mining for gold or sharing stories with fellow Guyanese, I believe in celebrating our culture and community. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
