Hello! I'm Shimroy Lewis, a proud farmer from the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, specifically the charming area of Pom. River GT. Henrietta Cecelia. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I have always found joy in cultivating the earth and sharing the rich flavors of our local produce. From the fields of cassava to the sweet, ripe mangoes, my work reflects the bounty of our beloved land.
In my community, we celebrate our heritage through various traditions, including the delightful gatherings where we enjoy dishes infused with spices and flavors unique to Guyana. I often reminisce about the stories of our ancestors, like the celebrated boxers Cliff Anderson and Randolph Turpin, who made waves far beyond our shores. Their legacy, much like the spirit of our people, inspires me every day as I navigate the challenges and rewards of farming.
While I am deeply rooted in my Guyanese culture, I also cherish the connections we share with the diaspora around the world.
