Hello! My name is Shivananand Ganesh, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled 30 west of the Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I cherish the vibrant culture that surrounds me. Guyana is a land of rich traditions, diverse communities, and breathtaking landscapes, where the mighty rivers, such as the Pomeroon and the river northern bank, play a crucial role in our daily lives. Our local cuisine is a reflection of this diversity, offering an array of flavors that truly represent our melting pot of cultures—whether it’s the spicy pepper pot or the sweet, comforting cassava pone, every dish tells a story.
Living in Guyana, I am acutely aware of the challenges many in our community face, from poverty to educational disparities. Yet, amidst these struggles, our resilience shines brightly.
