Greetings! My name is Slater Sukha, a proud resident of Essequibo 71, located in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our diverse communities. Whether it’s sharing a plate of aromatic roti stuffed with spicy peas or sipping on refreshing pineapple juice, the flavors of my homeland are an integral part of who I am. My experiences here have shaped my love for our unique blend of cultures and traditions, from our Amerindian roots to the influences of our Chinese community.
Living in Essequibo, I am fortunate to be close to the iconic Pomeroon River, a place that holds countless memories of fishing trips, family gatherings, and connecting with nature. I often reminisce about the warm camaraderie we share, especially with those in the diaspora who are just a phone call away, sharing stories and laughter from as far as Florida.
