Hello! My name is Sorace Thomas, and I proudly hail from the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, specifically from the 229 South New Scheme area. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich culture and traditions. From the sweet sounds of the tassa drums during festivals to the aroma of a freshly prepared cook-up rice, every aspect of our heritage holds a special place in my heart.
As a labourer, I understand the value of hard work and community spirit. This spirit is deeply embedded in our daily lives, whether it's gathering with friends to enjoy some mouthwatering pepperpot or sharing stories at the riverside, reflecting on the beauty of places like Pom River and Kabakaburi. Even though I currently reside in a bustling environment, I carry the warmth of my homeland with me, often connecting with the Guyanese diaspora. We share laughter and memories, reminiscing about the vibrant life back home, despite the challenges and disparities we face here.
